We at femmeliterate aren’t much for boasting, but we are much for broadcasting new books when they come on our radar. For this reason we are pleased, proud, and a bit swoony with happiness to announce that Misty’s short-story collection, A Lesson in Manners, has been honored with the 2014 Serena McDonald Kennedy Award from Snake~Nation~Press. The collection was selected by judge Jacob M. Appel and plans are underway to bring the book out this fall.
Snake~Nation~Press is a non-profit literary arts organization committed to fostering the appreciation, reading, and writing of literature in all its myriad forms, and their bookstore is full of fine offerings as well as Snake~Nation~Review, if you care to take a look.
And, if you’re shopping a manuscript of poems or fictions, entries are still being accepted for the 2015 Violet Reed Hass Prize for Poetry and this year’s Serena McDonald Kennedy Award. Misty’s dream just came true – why not yours?
